Steve Vassallo’s path into landscaping began in primary school, when a single classroom project — laying a brick-on-edge garden border — revealed a natural eye for structure, levels and finish. That early curiosity became a craft, and the craft became a career.

Steve's hands-on landscaping journey began in 1989, after transforming his own property and being asked to design and build a garden for a friend. The result was immediate: a landscape that looked considered, functioned properly and lasted. Word spread quickly, and that early craft evolved into Steve's Oasis Landscapes, established locally in Wyong in 2017.

Over the decades, Steve evolved from landscaper to maker. Dissatisfied with off-the-shelf products that didn’t quite fit Central Coast conditions, he began designing and manufacturing his own — Slate Blocks, Stack Stone, imitation Bush Rock, concrete sleepers, hand-cast pots and stainless-steel tools, all produced from his Wyong workshop.

That same workshop is now the engine room of the business. It supplies Steve's own installation teams, local tradespersons, landscapers and DIY homeowners with products they can't buy from a standard catalogue. When Steve sees a problem — a wall that needs a better block, a tool that should exist but doesn't, a finish no one else reproduces — he builds the solution.
